KCOM: who it suits

KCOM is Hull’s own telecoms company, and for most homes in the city it is still the main way to get broadband, because Openreach never built a network there. KCOM’s network is full fibre throughout, and it has expanded into towns across East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, where it competes with other providers.

Our simple pick: Power Fibre 100 for most households, or Power Fibre 900 for busy homes. KCOM’s autumn offer fixes a discounted price for the whole contract, apart from a small rise each March.

Who KCOM suits

  • Homes in Hull and East Yorkshire, where KCOM is often the only full fibre option.
  • Home workers and anyone who needs a static IP address, which KCOM includes on Power Fibre packages.
  • People who want an eero mesh-ready router included.

Who should look elsewhere

  • Homes in KCOM’s newer expansion towns that can also get Openreach or altnet full fibre at a lower price. Compare at your address.
  • Anyone outside KCOM’s region, who can’t get the service.

Price rises

KCOM adds a fixed amount each year on 1 March, set out when you order. After the contract ends, prices move to KCOM’s standard published rates.

Router and Wi-Fi

KCOM offers Amazon eero 7 routers on its Power Fibre packages, with the eero Pro 7 on the fastest package. Extra eero units can be added to spread Wi-Fi through larger homes.

Social tariff

KCOM’s Full Fibre Flex and Flex Plus tariffs are available on a 30-day rolling contract to eligible customers in its area. See our social tariff guide.
