Community Fibre Broadband Routers

Community Fibre provides Linksys mesh Wi-Fi routers with its broadband plans, including the latest Wi-Fi 7 models for connections of 1Gbps and above. The router you receive depends on your broadband speed, with Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 equipment currently available.

The Linksys M60 and M62 are the newest routers. Both support Wi-Fi 7 and multi-gigabit Ethernet, but only the M62 has a 6GHz Wi-Fi band. Community Fibre also offers additional mesh routers for homes that need better wireless coverage.

Latest Community Fibre routers

Linksys M60 – Wi-Fi 7

The Linksys M60 is a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router with 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless connections. It supports Multi-Link Operation (MLO), intelligent mesh networking and has three 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports for wired devices.

Plans supplied: Community Fibre provides the M60 with broadband packages from 1Gbps through to 2.5Gbps Premium. It is ideal for homes with several Wi-Fi 7 devices and users who want faster wired connections.

Linksys M62 – Wi-Fi 7

The M62 is Community Fibre’s most advanced supplied router, using tri-band Wi-Fi 7 with 2.4GHz, 5GHz and 6GHz frequencies. It has a 10Gbps WAN port, one 10Gbps LAN port and two 2.5Gbps LAN ports.

Plans supplied: The M62 comes with Community Fibre’s 5Gbps Premium broadband package. Its 10Gbps Ethernet port allows compatible computers to receive multi-gigabit speeds without being restricted to 2.5Gbps.

Linksys MX20 – Wi-Fi 6

Community Fibre’s Linksys MX20 is a dual-band Wi-Fi 6 mesh router. It supports AX3000 wireless technology, parental controls, guest Wi-Fi and three Gigabit Ethernet ports. It can also connect to additional compatible Linksys mesh routers.

Plans supplied: The MX20 is provided with broadband packages from 100Mbps to 500Mbps, including the 150Mbps and 500Mbps plans.

Linksys WHW01 – Wi-Fi 5

The Linksys WHW01 is an older dual-band Wi-Fi 5 router, with mesh support and two Gigabit Ethernet ports. It provides sufficient wireless performance for basic browsing, HD streaming and everyday internet use.

Plans supplied: Community Fibre uses the WHW01 with broadband packages below 100Mbps, including its 35Mbps plan.

Community Fibre customers in parts of Surrey and Sussex may receive the Nokia G-2426G-A Wi-Fi 6 router instead. It has four Gigabit Ethernet ports and two telephone ports.

The WHW01 has two auto-sensing Gigabit Ethernet ports. One is used for the incoming internet connection.

Community Fibre also offers an 8.5Gbps plan, but this is an exception: customers must provide their own compatible router with a 10Gbps WAN port.

Community Fibre router features

Wi-Fi 7 and faster wireless speeds

The M60 and M62 offer faster wireless technology than the older Linksys routers. Both support MLO, which allows compatible devices to use multiple wireless links for improved performance.

However, only the M62 includes the 6GHz band. This gives compatible devices another wireless frequency with less interference from older Wi-Fi equipment.

Multi-gigabit Ethernet

The M60 has three 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports, while the M62 includes a 10Gbps LAN port. These are particularly important for customers taking broadband faster than 1Gbps.

For example, a PC with a 2.5Gbps network card can take advantage of Community Fibre’s 2.5Gbps service through the M60. To receive more than 2.5Gbps on one device, you need suitable 10Gbps equipment and the M62.

Mesh Wi-Fi coverage

Community Fibre’s Linksys routers support mesh networking, allowing additional routers to extend coverage into other rooms. They share one Wi-Fi network, so compatible devices can move between access points without manually changing connections.

You can add an extra mesh node for £5 a month on qualifying services. Community Fibre also offers Premium WiFi packages with engineer installation and additional mesh equipment where needed.

Premium WiFi guarantee

Premium WiFi is available with Community Fibre’s 1Gbps, 2.5Gbps and 5Gbps Premium packages on qualifying new 24-month contracts.

It guarantees at least 50Mbps Wi-Fi coverage across up to 12 rooms, including five bedrooms, over a maximum of three floors. If Community Fibre cannot meet the guarantee, you receive three months of broadband free, subject to its conditions.

Router security and controls

Community Fibre’s routers include Wi-Fi security settings, guest networks and controls for connected devices. The Linksys MX20 also provides parental controls for restricting access on selected devices.

The M60 and M62 support WPA3 security, along with compatibility settings for devices using older wireless standards.

Linksys app and Linksys Now

Community Fibre’s Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 6 routers can be managed through the Linksys app or their web interface. You can change Wi-Fi passwords, view connected devices and adjust network settings.

The newer M60 and M62 use the browser-based Linksys Now dashboard rather than the Linksys mobile app. Connect to your home network and enter myrouter.info to access it.

Community Fibre router FAQs

Can I use my own router with Community Fibre broadband?

Yes. Community Fibre allows third-party routers that support an Ethernet connection and the speed of your broadband package. On its standard London network, the router should use DHCP rather than PPPoE. Community Fibre may ask you to reconnect its supplied router when troubleshooting faults.

Can I use an older Linksys mesh router with the new M60 or M62?

Compatibility depends on the model. The older MX20 uses Linksys Intelligent Mesh, while the M60 and M62 use Cognitive Mesh. These systems are not fully interchangeable, so check compatibility before buying additional nodes.

Does the Linksys M60 support 6GHz Wi-Fi?

No. Although the M60 supports Wi-Fi 7, it only operates on 2.4GHz and 5GHz. You need the tri-band M62 to use the 6GHz frequency.

Can I use port forwarding on Community Fibre routers?

Yes, but you need a public IP address. Customers signing up or renewing from 4 June 2026 receive CGNAT by default, which prevents normal incoming IPv4 port forwarding. Community Fibre offers a public IP add-on for £4 per month.

Can I upgrade my Community Fibre router without changing broadband plans?

You can contact Community Fibre to ask about replacement equipment, but a free upgrade to Wi-Fi 7 is not guaranteed. Its standard router allocation depends on your broadband package. You can also use your own compatible router if you want newer Wi-Fi technology.
