Community Fibre Premium WiFi – Features, Coverage and Guarantee

Community Fibre Premium WiFi is a whole-home wireless service available with its faster full fibre broadband plans. It uses Wi-Fi 7 mesh routers to improve coverage in larger houses, multi-storey homes and rooms where the main router cannot provide a strong signal.

Unlike standard broadband installation, Community Fibre sends specialist engineers to set up additional mesh routers where needed. It guarantees at least 50Mbps Wi-Fi speed across up to 12 rooms or gives you three months of broadband free, subject to its conditions.

Community Fibre Premium WiFi features and benefits

Whole-home Wi-Fi coverage

Premium WiFi is ideal for households where several people need a strong wireless connection in different rooms. It can improve coverage in upstairs bedrooms, home offices and extensions separated by thick walls.

Community Fibre guarantees at least 50Mbps Wi-Fi speed in up to 12 rooms, including five bedrooms, across a maximum of three floors. Actual speeds will usually be higher in rooms closer to the routers.

Wi-Fi 7 mesh routers

Premium packages come with Linksys Wi-Fi 7 routers. The 1Gbps and 2.5Gbps plans use the dual-band Linksys M60, while the 5Gbps Premium package includes the tri-band Linksys M62 with 6GHz Wi-Fi support.

Additional compatible mesh routers can be installed where necessary. These work together to provide one wireless network throughout your home.

Read our Community Fibre router comparison for their specifications and differences.

Professional installation

A Community Fibre engineer installs the main router and additional mesh units during your broadband installation appointment. The engineer checks wireless coverage and chooses suitable positions for each router.

In some homes, Ethernet cables may be installed between mesh routers to provide a better connection. There is no extra installation or setup charge for Premium WiFi.

Priority customer support

Premium WiFi customers receive priority support if they experience broadband or wireless problems. Community Fibre can investigate connection faults, check the router setup and arrange further technical assistance where necessary.

Three months’ free broadband guarantee

If Community Fibre cannot provide the guaranteed 50Mbps Wi-Fi coverage after installing and testing the equipment, you can receive three months of broadband free.

The guarantee covers the main home within the stated room and floor limits. Garages, sheds, summer houses and other outbuildings are excluded.

A standard Community Fibre connection may already provide enough Wi-Fi coverage in a flat or smaller house. Premium WiFi is worth considering if your home has several floors, thick walls or rooms where the router’s signal is weak.

Community Fibre Premium WiFi FAQs

Can existing Community Fibre customers upgrade to Premium WiFi?

Community Fibre currently offers Premium WiFi with selected new-customer 24-month contracts. Existing customers should contact Community Fibre to check their upgrade options. Alternatively, they can request an additional compatible Linksys mesh router for a monthly charge.

Can I choose where the mesh routers are installed?

Yes. You can discuss router positions with the installation engineer. However, the final placement must provide good wireless coverage. Moving the routers afterwards can reduce speeds and affect the coverage guarantee.

Can Premium WiFi provide 1Gbps speeds in every room?

It can deliver high wireless speeds on compatible devices, but the guarantee is only 50Mbps at the furthest covered locations. Getting 1Gbps over Wi-Fi depends on your device, distance from the router and interference.

What happens if the engineer cannot provide Premium WiFi coverage?

If the engineer confirms that Premium WiFi is unsuitable for your home, Community Fibre can remove Premium WiFi from your contract and switch you to the corresponding standard broadband package without an upgrade-related charge. You can also receive three months’ free broadband.

Can I use Community Fibre Premium WiFi with Fibre To Your Room?

Yes. Fibre To Your Room lets you choose a suitable location for the main fibre connection and router, subject to installation limits. Premium WiFi can then extend wireless coverage to other parts of your home.
