Community Fibre TV brings live television, streaming apps and cloud gaming together through a compact 4K TV box. You can add it to your Community Fibre broadband plan and watch over 200 live channels, including BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky Arts.
Community Fibre introduced its new Netgem PLEIO TV service in October 2026. Unlike the older TV box, the new model works entirely over broadband without an aerial. It also includes more than 300 cloud games and a wireless gaming controller.
Community Fibre TV is a good choice if you want free TV channels, streaming subscriptions and casual gaming without paying for a large traditional TV package.

Community Fibre TV features
Netgem PLEIO 4K TV box
The new Community Fibre TV service comes with a compact PLEIO 4K puck. Connect it to your television through HDMI and use your broadband connection to watch live channels, streaming apps and online content.
The box uses Android TV technology and supports Google Assistant voice search. You can find programmes, open apps and search for films using the remote.
Over 200 live TV channels
Community Fibre TV includes more than 200 live channels covering entertainment, news, films, children’s programmes and specialist content.
You can watch BBC One, BBC Two, ITV1, Channel 4 and Channel 5 through Freely. The service also includes Sky Arts and more than 150 themed and free streaming channels.
Unlike the older Netgem box, the new puck receives live television over your broadband connection. You don’t need a rooftop aerial.
Catch-up TV and streaming apps
The TV box brings together BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, 5 and other catch-up services. You can watch missed programmes and access available box sets without a recording device.
Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV and NOW are also available through compatible apps. These services need their own paid subscriptions.
Sky Sports and premium entertainment
You can watch premium sport and entertainment through supported streaming subscriptions. NOW offers access to Sky Sports, Sky Cinema and Sky entertainment, while discovery+ Premium provides TNT Sports.
These channels are not included in the standard Community Fibre TV subscription. You must pay for the relevant service separately.
You can add or cancel streaming subscriptions according to each provider’s terms.
Over 300 cloud games
The new PLEIO box includes access to more than 300 cloud games and comes with a Bluetooth gaming controller.
Games run on remote servers and stream to your television over broadband. You do not need a PlayStation, Xbox or gaming PC, and there are no large game files to download.
Cloud gaming performance depends on your broadband connection, Wi-Fi quality and latency. A wired or strong 5GHz Wi-Fi connection is preferable.
Freely TV guide
Freely combines live UK television with catch-up services in one programme guide. You can restart supported programmes and scroll back through the guide to find programmes available on demand.
However, the new PLEIO puck is not a traditional TV recorder. If you want to save live programmes permanently, you will need another suitable recording device.
Community Fibre TV vs Virgin Media Flex
Both services combine live channels and streaming apps with broadband. However, Community Fibre’s new TV service also includes cloud gaming.

Community Fibre TV FAQs
Can I use Community Fibre TV without an aerial?
Yes. The new PLEIO puck streams live channels through broadband using Freely. However, customers with the older Netgem TV box still need an aerial to receive traditional Freeview channels.
Can I watch live TV during a broadband outage?
No. The new Community Fibre TV puck relies on your internet connection for live channels, streaming apps and cloud gaming. These services will stop working if your broadband connection fails.
Can I play games without a PlayStation or Xbox?
Yes. The new box includes cloud gaming with more than 300 games and a Bluetooth controller. The games run on remote servers, so you do not need a separate console.
Can I record programmes on Community Fibre TV?
The new PLEIO puck uses Freely’s catch-up and programme restart features instead of traditional recording. Older Community Fibre Netgem boxes support recording Freeview channels to a USB stick, with restrictions.
Can I use my existing Netflix or Prime Video subscription?
Yes. You can sign into supported streaming apps using your existing account. You do not need to buy another subscription through Community Fibre.
Do I need a TV Licence for Community Fibre TV?
Yes, if you watch live television on any channel or streaming service, or use BBC iPlayer. A TV Licence is not generally required for watching other on-demand streaming content.
