Vodafone offers two main broadband routers: the Power Hub with Wi-Fi 6 and the Ultra Hub 7 with Wi-Fi 7. Both provide fast wireless connections, Gigabit Ethernet ports and WPA3 security.
New customers taking standard Vodafone broadband receive the Power Hub, while Pro 3 full fibre customers get the Ultra Hub 7. The newer router supports multi-gigabit broadband and has more advanced Wi-Fi technology.
Vodafone has also announced the Ultra Hub 7+ for its upcoming Pro 4 service. This will add tri-band Wi-Fi 7, including the 6GHz frequency.

Vodafone router features
Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7
The Power Hub supports Wi-Fi 6, providing fast wireless connections for multiple phones, laptops, televisions and gaming consoles. Its 4×4 wireless configuration on the 5GHz band helps it handle several active devices.
Ultra Hub 7 offers Wi-Fi 7 and more wireless capacity. Its 4×4 configuration on both frequency bands makes it suitable for busy homes with several high-performance devices. However, you need Wi-Fi 7-compatible equipment to take full advantage of its newer features.
Multi-Link Operation
Ultra Hub 7 supports Multi-Link Operation (MLO), allowing compatible Wi-Fi 7 devices to communicate across the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. This can improve wireless performance and reduce delays caused by congestion.
The Power Hub does not support MLO. However, both routers automatically manage wireless connections between their supported frequency bands.
Ethernet connections
The Power Hub has Gigabit Ethernet connections for gaming PCs, consoles, smart TVs and other wired devices. A single Gigabit port can typically deliver up to about 940Mbps after network overheads.
Ultra Hub 7 includes two 2.5Gbps ports, one of which can be used for the incoming broadband connection. A compatible computer connected to the other 2.5Gbps port can receive broadband speeds above 1Gbps.
For example, a 2.2Gbps broadband connection needs a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port and compatible equipment to achieve its full speed on one wired device.
Wireless security
Both routers support WPA2 and WPA3 encryption. WPA3 provides improved protection when connecting compatible devices to your home Wi-Fi network.
You can also create a guest Wi-Fi network for visitors without sharing access to your main wireless network.
Wi-Fi Compatibility Mode
Some older smart plugs, printers, security cameras and other devices cannot connect using newer wireless security settings.
Vodafone’s Compatibility Mode creates a separate wireless network using settings suitable for older devices. It is available on both routers through the My Vodafone app or router settings.
Parental controls and device management
You can view connected devices, pause internet access and block selected websites through the router’s management interface.
Vodafone also offers Who’s Home, which can notify you when participating household members connect to or disconnect from your home Wi-Fi. The feature is available on both routers through the My Vodafone app.
Router settings
The Power Hub and Ultra Hub 7 can be managed through a browser by entering 192.168.1.1 while connected to your home network.
You can change Wi-Fi passwords, adjust security settings, create guest networks and check connected devices. The administrator password is printed on the router unless you have changed it.

The Power Hub is an excellent router for Vodafone’s standard full fibre plans, including Full Fibre 500 and 910. Its Wi-Fi 6 technology is fast enough for 4K streaming, online gaming, video calls and multiple connected devices.
Ultra Hub 7 is the better router for multi-gigabit broadband and homes with newer Wi-Fi 7 devices. Its 2.5Gbps Ethernet connections and MLO support are the main technical advantages over the Power Hub.
However, the Ultra Hub 7 does not support 6GHz Wi-Fi, despite using Wi-Fi 7 technology.

Vodafone router FAQs
Can I use my own router instead of Vodafone Power Hub?
Yes, on eligible standard broadband plans. Vodafone can provide the connection details needed for a compatible third-party router. However, Pro broadband and services with Digital Voice require Vodafone’s supplied equipment.
Can I get Ultra Hub 7 without taking Pro 3?
Ultra Hub 7 is supplied as part of Vodafone Pro 3. It is not a standard router option for ordinary Full Fibre 150, 500 or 910 orders. Existing customers can contact Vodafone about upgrading.
Why does my Ultra Hub 7 not show a 6GHz Wi-Fi network?
Ultra Hub 7 is a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router operating on 2.4GHz and 5GHz. It does not have a 6GHz wireless radio. Vodafone’s older Ultra Hub 6E and upcoming Ultra Hub 7+ support the additional 6GHz band.
Does Vodafone Power Hub support 2.4GHz-only smart home devices?
Yes. It supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, and Compatibility Mode can help connect older devices that have problems with the router’s normal wireless settings.
Can I use Vodafone Ultra Hub 7 with a 2.2Gbps broadband plan?
Yes. It has 2.5Gbps Ethernet connections and supports Vodafone’s multi-gigabit full fibre plans. You need a suitable computer and Ethernet adapter to receive more than 1Gbps on one device.
Will a factory reset remove my Wi-Fi settings?
Yes. Resetting your Vodafone router restores its original network name, Wi-Fi password and customised settings. The default login information is printed underneath the router.
