Vodafone TV Packages – Channels, Features and Broadband bundles

Vodafone TV is a streaming television service that brings live channels, Netflix, HBO Max, catch-up TV and cloud gaming together through one TV box. Launched in October 2026, it uses an internet connection rather than a satellite dish or TV aerial.

All plans include over 200 live channels, Freely, more than 300 games and access to streaming apps. Vodafone TV Essential adds Netflix and HBO Max, while TV Ultimate also includes a choice of Disney+ or Amazon Prime.

You need a qualifying Vodafone broadband or Pay Monthly mobile plan to order Vodafone TV, but you can use another broadband provider’s internet connection to stream it.

Vodafone TV channels and entertainment

Live TV and Freely

Vodafone TV includes Freely, which provides more than 70 live channels and catch-up programmes from BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and other broadcasters.

You can watch BBC One, ITV1 and other free-to-air channels without connecting a TV aerial. Freely also includes a seven-day programme guide, live TV pausing and programme restart where supported.

Vodafone adds over 150 free, advertising-supported streaming channels. These include entertainment, news, lifestyle and themed channels. However, the advertised 200+ channels should not be confused with a premium Sky Sports or TNT Sports subscription.

Netflix, HBO Max and other streaming apps

Vodafone TV Essential includes Netflix Standard with Ads and HBO Max Standard with Ads. Both offer Full HD streaming on two supported devices simultaneously.

You can install other apps through the Google Play Store, including Disney+, Prime Video, YouTube and Spotify. Most require their own subscriptions.

Vodafone’s Subscription+ service also lets you add selected entertainment subscriptions on a 30-day rolling basis. You can manage these services through your Vodafone account.

Vodafone TV Hub

Vodafone supplies a compact Android TV set-top box with every package. It connects to your television and broadband router, giving you one interface for live channels, streaming services and games.

Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos are available only with compatible content and equipment. The Netflix and HBO Max subscriptions included in Essential are ad-supported Full HD plans, not their premium 4K versions.

Cloud gaming

Vodafone TV includes access to more than 300 cloud games without needing a PlayStation, Xbox or gaming PC.

Games run online and stream to your television. You can use a compatible Bluetooth controller or your smartphone to play.

Your broadband connection and Wi-Fi quality affect how responsive games feel, particularly when several people are using the internet.

Vodafone TV app and smart search

The Vodafone TV companion app lets you watch selected channels on your phone, play mobile games and cast compatible content to the TV Hub.

The TV Hub also supports individual profiles, personalised recommendations and Smart AI Search. This helps you find films and programmes across different supported services.

Vodafone Box Office is available for renting or buying films separately.

Vodafone TV with broadband

You can add Vodafone TV to selected Vodafone broadband plans, including standard full fibre and Pro broadband.

Vodafone requires a broadband download speed of at least 20Mbps for its TV service. A 150Mbps full fibre connection should comfortably support 4K viewing alongside everyday browsing and video calls, provided the connection and home Wi-Fi are working properly.

Customers taking Vodafone Pro 3 broadband between 1 and 28 October 2026 can get Vodafone TV Essential included for the first 24 months under a limited-time promotion. Check the specific broadband price increases before ordering.

If your TV is far from the router and frequently buffers, improving the wireless connection may help. See our Vodafone Super WiFi guide or Vodafone router comparison for more details.

Vodafone TV FAQs

Can I get Vodafone TV without Vodafone broadband?

Yes, if you have a qualifying Vodafone Pay Monthly mobile plan. You do not necessarily need Vodafone home broadband, but the TV Hub still requires a suitable internet connection.

Does Vodafone TV need an aerial?

No. It streams channels through your broadband connection, including Freely channels from the main UK broadcasters.

Can I pause live TV?

Yes. Freely supports pausing and restarting live programmes where the broadcaster allows it. Catch-up programmes are also available through supported services.

Can I watch Vodafone TV on my phone?

Yes. The Vodafone TV companion app provides access to selected streaming channels and other features. Netflix, HBO Max and similar services use their own apps and viewing rules.

Do I need a TV Licence?

Yes, if you watch live television or use BBC iPlayer. Vodafone also lists a valid TV Licence among its TV service requirements.

Vodafone TV verdict

Vodafone TV is a useful alternative to traditional television bundles for households that primarily watch free-to-air channels, Netflix, HBO Max and other streaming services.

TV Essential is likely to be the most attractive option if you already pay separately for Netflix and HBO Max. The basic TV package is more suitable if you mainly want Freely, streaming apps and cloud gaming.

However, if premium sports channels, traditional recording features or a broader pay-TV channel selection are important, compare Vodafone’s offering carefully with Sky, Virgin Media and EE TV before switching.
