Vodafone Full Fibre 500 Broadband

Vodafone Full Fibre 500 offers 500Mbps average download speed, making it a good choice for larger households with several people using the internet heavily. It can handle multiple 4K streams, video meetings, online games and large downloads at the same time.

The biggest advantage over Full Fibre 150 is how quickly you can download large files. A 100GB game takes about 27 minutes at 500Mbps under ideal conditions, compared with nearly 89 minutes at 150Mbps.

Upload speeds depend on the network serving your home. Vodafone offers 68Mbps uploads on Openreach, but 500Mbps on CityFibre and Community Fibre. The faster symmetrical connection is particularly useful for sending large work files, uploading videos and cloud backups.

Download and upload performance

Full Fibre 500 provides more bandwidth than most households need for everyday browsing and streaming. Its main benefit is when several people download or transfer large files regularly.

For example, a 100GB game download can finish in about 27 minutes under ideal conditions, although game servers, Wi-Fi and other network activity may extend this.

The upload difference between networks is substantial. Sending a 10GB video file could take approximately 20 minutes on Openreach at 68Mbps, but under three minutes on CityFibre or Community Fibre at 500Mbps.

Check which network Vodafone uses at your address before ordering, especially if upload speed is important.

Minimum speed guarantee

Vodafone Full Fibre 500 typically comes with a minimum guaranteed download speed of 250Mbps. Your personalised guarantee will be confirmed when ordering.

This applies to the connection reaching your router, not individual devices connected over Wi-Fi. If your connection regularly performs below the guaranteed speed, Vodafone can investigate the problem and explain your options under its speed guarantee.

Price rises and contract

Full Fibre 500 comes with a 24-month contract. Vodafone increases the monthly broadband charge by £3.50 every 1 April.

For example, a contract started in October 2026 would normally see its first increase in April 2027 and another in April 2028. The monthly charge would be £7 higher after both increases.

Your bill may increase again when the initial contract discount ends. Compare these terms with other providers in our broadband price rises guide.

Vodafone Power Hub router

Full Fibre 500 includes the Vodafone Power Hub with dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and four Gigabit Ethernet connections. It can support the plan’s full download speed through a compatible wired device.

Wireless speeds depend on your device, signal strength and distance from the router. If your home has thick walls or rooms with weak reception, Vodafone Super WiFi offers mesh Boosters to improve coverage.

Our Vodafone routers guide explains the Power Hub’s features and compares it with the Ultra Hub 7.

Full Fibre 500 with Pro 3

You can choose Vodafone Pro 3 with the same 500Mbps broadband speed. It includes the Ultra Hub 7 Wi-Fi 7 router, Super WiFi 7 Boosters, automatic 4G Broadband Back-up and additional technical support.

Pro 3 is worth considering if you need improved Wi-Fi coverage or a backup connection for working from home. See our Vodafone Pro 3 broadband guide for the included services and costs.

Vodafone TV and home phone

Vodafone Full Fibre 500 can be combined with Vodafone TV. The service includes live channels, Freely, streaming apps and cloud gaming, with Netflix and HBO Max included in selected packages.

The 500Mbps connection provides plenty of bandwidth for multiple televisions streaming in 4K. Compare the options in our Vodafone TV packages guide.

You can also add Vodafone Digital Voice if you want to use a home telephone. The service offers pay-as-you-go calls and optional UK and international calling plans. Read our Vodafone Home Phone guide for details.

Vodafone Full Fibre 500 for gaming

Full Fibre 500 provides more than enough bandwidth for gaming on PlayStation, Xbox and PC, including households with several gamers.

Its biggest gaming advantage is faster downloads and updates. A 50GB game can download in approximately 13 minutes under ideal conditions. Streaming gameplay to Twitch or YouTube is also practical, with 68Mbps uploads on Openreach and considerably more capacity on symmetrical connections.

However, a faster broadband plan does not automatically mean lower gaming ping. Latency depends on the network route, game server and local connection. Using Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi can help reduce interference and inconsistent response times.

Alternatives to consider

  • Vodafone Full Fibre 150 offers enough speed for most smaller households. It is worth choosing if you mainly browse, stream and make video calls rather than regularly download large files.
  • Vodafone Full Fibre 910 offers 910Mbps average downloads, nearly twice the speed of Full Fibre 500. It is worth considering if you frequently download very large games, work with substantial files or have several heavy internet users.
  • BT Full Fibre 500 also delivers 500Mbps downloads, with 73Mbps uploads and a 425Mbps Stay Fast Guarantee. Vodafone offers much faster uploads where symmetrical speeds are available.
  • Virgin Media M500 provides 516Mbps average downloads and 52Mbps uploads. It is another option if Vodafone’s full fibre network does not cover your address.
